Morocan Mint Tea

So one day I brought in a bag of scarves which the children all put on.  We wrapped the boys and girls scarves differently so they were kind of like the way they are worn in Dubai.  We had steaming hot sweet tea and some Turkish Delight.  The point was for the children to be immersed in an experience that felt different for them.   Many had not drunk tea before. Then we wrote experiential descriptions. This was my example.  I wanted to include the following language features:
Descriptive adjectives
Great verbs/adverbs
Classy words (vessel, aroma, larynx)
Simile
Metaphor
Add a question

I felt claustrophobic and sweaty as the scarf entwined my throat like a cobra.  It strangled my larynx and it dried my throat.  I could feel sweat build up down the back of my neck.  I was uncomfortable.  "Afwan", I replied as the steaming tea was poured into my glass.  The vessel was nearly too hot to hold but I cupped it anyway.  What would it taste like, I wondered? I knew the mint was fresh out of Lesley's garden.  Suddenly my nostrils received a heavenly scent.  The mint filled all my senses and I anticipated the hot liquid warming me up.  The Turkish delight was a flower bomb on my tongue.  The rose oil was heavenly and I felt wrapped up it's aroma.  The tea melted it instantly and I smiled as the warm syrup slid down my throat.
