Pack

An Ode to a Pack
Born in 1990
Light green and faded purple
Zips, hidden pockets and lots of straps
Macpac is your name

You’re faded and battered
Buckle missing
Zips are stiff
Inside you it’s crumbly
Cats bed covered with fur

Once an exciting life you lead
Oh the many places you’ve been
Scottish highlands chasing the morning mist
Dusty roadsides covered in red ants
Flung in the back of utes
Speeding through the African plains
A pillow on a long train ride
A seat to rest on when waiting
A slide down a snowy slope
