Summer Holiday

The car park was packed tight like sardines
I remember wondering if this was good idea
The sun was beating down on our backs
I remember the smiles on our faces
The waves crashed over our heads
I remember wiping the salt from my eyes
The jetty was covered in barnacles
I remember flying before splashing deep into the ocean
The sand was burning my feet
I remember running on the tip of my toes
The car was like an oven with stale air
I remember gasping and fumbling with the fan
The look we gave each other
I remember laughing until we cried
